Al is a lifetime resident of Michigan and has been a resident of Bedford for 37 years. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Dearborn Heights. The neighborhood he grew up in was a blue-collar neighborhood that taught him the value of hard work and the importance of helping others.
After high school, Al worked his way through college. He graduated from Siena Heights University (BA, Business Administration/ Political Science) and later, Spring Arbor University (MA, Organizational Management Development). During his time at Siena Heights, Al met Sue Decker and the two married. They have been married for 40 years. They have two daughters and four grandsons.
Al loves many things. He loves sports and is extremely competitive. He loves dogs, bicycling, and golf. He also loves learning, humor, and making people laugh.
Al has worked in Bedford for 18 years of his career, not only as Deputy Township Supervisor but also as Vice President of Finance and Marketing for a local builder and developer. His previous experience also includes working as a manager for Trust Services at First of America and a regional manager for a bank consulting company. He knows what business owners are dealing with regarding taxes, ordinances, and, planning issues. Al has the experience and the vision to make needed financial decisions for the township. Mr. Prieur acts in the best interest of all Bedford Township residents as a wise steward of taxpayer dollars, encouraging economic development, and responsible residential growth.
